On-track so far.

We’re now almost two weeks in to the new year, one week from my last update. My weight is continuing to drop slowly but steadily. This morning I checked in at 220.4, dropping the trend weight to 222.6. I’ve been working out slightly more often so far in the new year – averaging three to four days a week versus two or slightly above for most of last year. Some of those are lighter days of pure cardio, but so far I’ve been working with my trainer 3 times a week. That will go down to 2 starting next week simply due to financial concerns, but I’m hoping to keep in the habit of getting to the gym three or four days a week total. I’m eating slightly better this year too, although I’m not eating nearly as well as my trainer or study dietician want. I’m cutting back on carbs and sodium, even from where I was, but not tracking anything very closely. I’m munching on sunflower seeds almost daily, which seems to help reduce my meal sizes since I’m not as hungry, but there’s so much salt on them that I have to mix a bag of salted and a bag of unsalted or it’s borderline unpalatable. So far, things are happening nicely, at the pace I want them to happen – my target is about 5 lbs a month, and at the current pace I’m slightly ahead of that curve (3.2 lbs in 2 weeks).

Clocked in at 218.6 this morning.  Before my morning workout.  Which was an hour session, and yet again kicked my arse up around my ears.  Holy cripes…  I can handle the half hour sessions no problem, the hours just absolutely kill me.

Bad Day

Today has so far been a pretty bad day…  weight-wise, I’m only at 220.0 so I’m not entirely unhappy, just slightly unhappy.  I tried to play racquetball today at lunch, and everything felt stiff, sore, and unresponsive.  I was completely missing shots that I should have been hitting because I could move fast enough, and my legs are still sore from the effort.  Not to mention being drag-arse tired and feeling like I need a three-hour nap…

I’m so looking forward to the beer tasting at the Flying Saucer tonight.  It wil be a good night, no matter what the day has been.

220.8 yesterday morning, 220.4 this morning.  Not a bad deal considering I had some delicious potato chips from Hi 5 last night that did absolutely nothing good for my weight.  :)

Had a doubled session at the gym today – an hour workout – and it drained me.  By the end of it, I was spending more time in catching my breath than actually running through the routines Meredith was giving me.  I’m definitely making progress, though – I can tell I’m a bit leaner (though I have a long way to go on that) and a good bit stronger.  My upper arms look like they’re finally starting to get some decent bulk / definition, too, so that’s all good.  I just need to keep at it.  I started a new cardio schedule today – planned cardio work on a weekly basis.  I definitely need to keep up with that this time around.

219.8 this morning.  I missed the workout last night – forgot my workout shorts of all things and wasn’t about to try to workout in my boxers.  Umm, no.  I did play racquetball yesterday at lunch, but I felt more like I ran down my energy than actually ran down my weight…  Granted, I’ve bulked up a lot in the arms and chest recently, but I still think I’m not losing as much weight as I should be.

Forgot to check in yesterday, and ended up getting entirely too busy during the day.  I half hate half love those kind of days…  they go by fast, but I feel like I never get anything done.  Anyway, 220.8 yesterday morning, so not exactly the best, but the good news I’m down to 219.6 this morning.  Had a good workout this morning, going to try and keep it up.  Got a workout with Meredith tomorrow evening, going to try to get some cardio done tomorrow morning anyway to make it a twofer.

Everyone dropped out of the bike ride this morning.  Some for good reasons, some for crap reasons.  So instead, I’m taking a slow morning, and I think I’ll try a run around the block before going to the gym for my 11:30 workout.  Weight was 220.2 this morning, so about in line with what I’ve been at recently, with some slight loss.  No happy that I’m still back above 220, but it’s better than 223-224.

220.8 this morning – a slight bounce-back from the losses of the past few days, so not entirely unexpected, and less than I’d feared it would be given the bloat I felt after having a chicken sandwich for dinner last night.  I’m playing racquetball just before lunch and then working out with Meredith this evening, so I’ll probably be back to losses tomorrow.  No workout tomorrow morning, which is unusual, but another client took my slot for a make-up session (which is why I got moved to tonight, actually), so I have to be sure and get in on my own to run and do some weights.

p220.8 this morning after running 2 laps around the building, another .7 miles on the treadmill (holy crap, I hit a 5.3 pace for 2 minutes on that thing!) And doing some weight machines. A good morning so far. :) /p
